Welcome to Thinking-Critically.com, the website for the blog (and eventual podcast) which will feature individuals tackling issues from a skeptical point of view. Thinking-Critically’s contributors will use analytic and scientific methods to examine these issues and attempt to unearth the truth.
We stand by the idea that no subject is off limits to scrutiny and skeptical inquiry. We plan to cover topics from a wide variety of fields, including: culture, economics, education, health care, history, medicine, neuropsychology, the paranormal, philosophy, politics, pseudoscience, psychology, religion, science, and sexuality.
We subscribe to no dogmas, respect no sacred cows, accept nothing on faith, and believe “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” Yet, we also maintain open minds and intend to follow the evidence wherever it may lead us.
We strive, in short, to always be Thinking Critically…
Our hosts will delve into any topic to look at it with a skeptical eye.

Jason Tilery is a native of Washington, DC. He was raised in the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses and has been in close association with the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Presbyterian Church.
During his time as a Christian, he was constantly encouraged to examine his faith to prove to himself that it was the truth. It was this very examination that would lead to his atheism. His interests include theology, philosophy, science, history and music.
He is currently working towards his life long dream of becoming a professional beer drinker.

Jeff Randall is a frequent volunteer for free-thought organizations, including the Center For Inquiry – DC. Having been blogging since January 2008, he decided that a community of bloggers would be an interesting new experience (or at the very least a fun way to annoy his friends into reading his posts more frequently).
Jeff’s grew up outside Atlanta GA, and his background includes over 16 years working as a database administrator / application developer for many government agencies and non-profits in the D.C. area, and bowing to the every whim of his spoiled dog.
Since finding out about about the existence of, and then joining, the atheist/skeptic community in 2007 he has been committed to community activism, critical thinking in all aspects of life, science, reason, and a fostering a secular society.

Luis Reinoso was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Peruvian immigrant parents. Growing up Roman Catholic in a staunchly Protestant Christian environment with a surrogate Jewish grandfather, he often questioned the logic of many religious practices. Traveling across the country and to other parts of the world opened his mind to different perspectives, further fueling his questioning nature. After recently retiring from the Navy after twenty years of active service, he has also recently made the decision to leave all forms of dogma, religious or otherwise, behind.
He considers his greatest successes as those which came from his questioning of “conventional knowledge” and learning to confront his irrational fears. Separate from his involvement with the Center For Inquiry – DC, he enjoys film, music, travel, sports and reading. And, yes, he admits to being a Facebook junkie.
