Mad Libs

I don’t know if I’m dating myself, but I’m going to play a simple version of Mad Libs to ask some questions on morality: ____________ (Person A) commits a crime (murder, rape, torture – something that causes extreme physical harm … Continue reading

OUTFOXED : Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism

I had been wanting to review this movie since a co-worker first convinced me to check it out long ago. However when I got ready to begin writing my review I wanted to check and see what others had said; … Continue reading

Don’t oppose the “mosque”, oppose islam

I have already written about this “issue” of the non-mosque being built not at ground zero, and had not expected to cover this ground again, but: It seems to be all anybody can talk about lately, with people and organizations … Continue reading

Fourty Seven Years Ago Today – Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream”

What could I say that has not already been said? What could I add to so eloquent a speech? What could contribute that would enhance and not detract from the word of Dr King? Quite honestly, nothing… So I give … Continue reading

Ted Turner Interviews Carl Sagan

As a kid growing up in Georgia, just outside Atlanta, in the 80′s Ted Turner was bigger than what most people view Bill Gates as today. He was the embodiment of business and along with Coca Cola and the Braves, … Continue reading

Freedom of Speech is to important to risk losing or even limiting. Continue reading

P!nk’s “Dear Mr. President”

On my old blog I had an occasional “thing” I liked to call Music Monday where I would share a song or artist that I feel is under-appreciated. And I figure why not continue that tradition here, since everybody needs … Continue reading

Would you send your children to this camp?

I first saw Jesus Camp a few years back on the Discovery Channel (I believe, although it may have been the History Channel or some other station) and was in complete shock. I was actually at a loss for words … Continue reading

Prop 8 Unconstitutional – “IT IS SO ORDERED.”

Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex … Continue reading

Prostitution: A proposition

We know prostitution as an illegal institution is wrought with corruption.  I’d like to suggest that legalized prostitution can remedy many of these evils, and thus worthy of serious consideration.  The focus is female prostitution because this is the most … Continue reading

Should we strive to put atheists, skeptics, free-thinkers into public office?

Recently I was listening to a back episode of some podcast and the guest and host both mentioned that they want to see more atheists win political office in the US. It was not a big part of their discussion, … Continue reading
